حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا رَأَيْنَا مِثْلَ قَوْمٍ قَدِمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَحْسَنَ مُوَاسَاةً فِي قَلِيلٍ وَلَا أَحْسَنَ بَذْلًا فِي كَثِيرٍ لَقَدْ كَفَوْنَا الْمَئُونَةَ وَأَشْرَكُونَا فِي الْمَهْنَإِ حَتَّى لَقَدْ حَسِبْنَا أَنْ يَذْهَبُوا بِالْأَجْرِ كُلِّهِ قَالَ لَا مَا أَثْنَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَدَعَوْتُمْ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُمْ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yazid informed us: Humayd informed us, from Anas, who said, "The Emigrants said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we have never seen people we came to like those we came to — better in sharing the little they had, nor more generous in giving from their abundance. They have spared us the burden of providing for ourselves and shared with us in the comforts, so much so that we thought they would take all the reward for themselves.' He said, 'No — not as long as you praise them and pray to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, for them.'"
