حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَنْبَأَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ يُصَلِّي فِي حُجْرَتِهِ فَجَاءَ أُنَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَصَلَّوْا بِصَلَاتِهِ فَخَفَّفَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ مِرَارًا كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يُصَلِّي وَيَنْصَرِفُ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّيْنَا مَعَكَ الْبَارِحَةَ وَنَحْنُ نُحِبُّ أَنْ تَمُدَّ فِي صَلَاتِكَ فَقَالَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ بِمَكَانِكُمْ وَعَمْدًا فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yazid informed us: Humayd informed us, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was one night praying in his chamber, and some of his companions came and prayed following his prayer. He shortened it, then entered the house, then came out — and he did this several times, each time praying and then leaving. When morning came, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we prayed with you last night, and we would have liked you to prolong your prayer." He said, "I was aware of your presence, and I did that intentionally."
