Zayd ibn Yahya al-Dimashqi narrated to us: Abu Mu'ayd narrated to us: Makhul narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, when should we abandon enjoining good and forbidding evil?" He said: "When there appears among you what appeared among the Children of Israel — when immorality is found among your great ones, when authority is held by your young ones, and when knowledge is found among your base ones."
