Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah and Yazid ibn Harun told us — Shu'bah informed us — I heard Qatadah narrating from Anas ibn Malik, who said: "Shall I not tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that no one after me will tell you having heard it from him? Among the signs of the Hour is that knowledge will be lifted, ignorance will appear, adultery will spread, wine will be drunk, men will perish and women will remain, until there will be fifty women to one male guardian." Hajjaj told us: Shu'bah told me: I heard Qatadah narrating from Anas ibn Malik, who said, "I will indeed tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him," and he mentioned the same, except he said, "men will perish and women will remain."
