Hajjaj told us, Shu'bah told me, from Abu Sadaqah, freedman of Anas -- and Shu'bah praised him well -- who said: I asked Anas about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray the noon prayer when the sun passed its zenith; and the afternoon prayer between these two prayers of yours; and the sunset prayer when the sun set; and the night prayer when the twilight disappeared; and the dawn prayer when the dawn broke, until it was possible to see clearly.
