حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَوَادَةَ عَنْ وَفَاءٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نَقْرَأُ فِينَا الْعَرَبِيُّ وَالْعَجَمِيُّ وَالْأَسْوَدُ وَالْأَبْيَضُ إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَنْتُمْ فِي خَيْرٍ تَقْرَءُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَيَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يَثْقَفُونَهُ كَمَا يَثْقَفُونَ الْقَدَحَ يَتَعَجَّلُونَ أُجُورَهُمْ وَلَا يَتَأَجَّلُونَهَا.

Hasan narrated to us: Ibn Lahi'a narrated to us: Bakr ibn Sawada narrated to us, from Wafa' al-Khawlani, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: While we were reciting, among us Arabs and non-Arabs, black and white, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out to us and said: "You are in good, reciting the Book of Allah while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is among you; but there will come upon people a time when they will scrutinize it [the Qur'an] as they scrutinize an arrow [for straightness], hastening its reward and not deferring it."
