حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسٌ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ إِذْ مَرَّ بِهِمْ يَهُودِيٌّ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رُدُّوهُ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ قُلْتَ قَالَ قُلْتُ سَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكَ أَيْ مَا قُلْتَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yunus narrated to us: Aban narrated to us, from Qatada, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: While the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting among his companions, a Jew passed by them and greeted them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Return it to him." He asked: "What did you say?" He said: "I said, 'Death (sam) be upon you.'" So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When any of the People of the Book greets you, say, 'And upon you,' that is, whatever you said [back to him]."
