حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ يَهُودِيًّا سَلَّمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ السَّامُ عَلَيْكَ قَالَ رُدُّوهُ عَلَيَّ قَالَ أَقُلْتَ السَّامُ عَلَيْكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us: Sa'id ibn Abi 'Aruba narrated to us, from Qatada, from Anas ibn Malik: that a Jew greeted the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Death be upon you (al-sam 'alayk)." He said: "Return it to me." He said: "Did you say 'death be upon you'?" He said: "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When the People of the Book greet you, say: 'And upon you.'"
