حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْتَجَّتْ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتْ النَّارُ فِيَّ الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ وَقَالَتْ الْجَنَّةُ فِيَّ ضُعَفَاءُ النَّاسِ وَمَسَاكِينُهُمْ قَالَ فَقَضَى بَيْنَهُمَا إِنَّكِ الْجَنَّةُ رَحْمَتِي أَرْحَمُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَإِنَّكِ النَّارُ عَذَابِي أُعَذِّبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَلِكِلَاكُمَا عَلَيَّ مِلْؤُهَا.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Uthman ibn Muhammad narrated to us — Abd Allah said, and I also heard it from Uthman — Jarir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Paradise and the Fire disputed: the Fire said, 'In me are the tyrants and the arrogant,' and Paradise said, 'In me are the weak of the people and their poor.' So He judged between them: 'You, Paradise, are My mercy; I show mercy through you to whomever I will. And you, Fire, are My punishment; I punish through you whomever I will. And each of you shall have your fill.'"
