Hammad al-Khayyat narrated to us, Abd al-Malik al-Ahwal narrated to us, from Sa'id b. Amr b. Sulaym, from a man of his people called so-and-so b. Mu'awiyah or Mu'awiyah b. so-and-so, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: "The dead person recognizes the one who washes him, carries him, and lowers him into the grave." He said: So I got up from Abu Sa'id and went to Ibn Umar and told him. Then Abu Sa'id passed by, and Ibn Umar said to him, "From whom did you hear this hadith?" He said, "From the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him."
