حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ و سَمِعْت أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ بْنِ مُسَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْسِمُ شَيْئًا أَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ فَأَكَبَّ عَلَيْهِ فَطَعَنَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعُرْجُونٍ كَانَ مَعَهُ فَجُرِحَ بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَعَالَ فَاسْتَقِدْ قَالَ قَدْ عَفَوْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ.

Harun told us — and I myself heard from Harun: Ibn Wahb told us, who said: 'Amr ibn al-Harith informed me, from Bukayr ibn al-Ashajj, from 'Abidah ibn Musafi', from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: While the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) was distributing something, a man came forward and leaned over him, and the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) poked him with a palm-frond stalk he had with him, wounding his face. The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Come, and take retaliation." He said: "I have forgiven you, O Messenger of God."
