الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya told us, from Ibn 'Ajlan, who said: 'Iyad ibn 'Abdullah narrated to me, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) used to like the stripped palm branches and to hold them in his hand. One day he entered the mosque with one of them in his hand and saw phlegm on the qiblah wall of the mosque, so he scraped it off with it until he cleaned it, then he turned to the people, angry, and said: "Would any of you like to be faced by a man who spits in his face? When one of you stands for prayer, he is facing his Lord, Mighty and Majestic, and the angel is on his right, so let him not spit in front of him nor to his right, but let him spit beneath his left foot, or to his left. And if the urge comes upon him suddenly, let him do like this" — and he folded part of it over part — and Yahya spat into his garment and rubbed it.
