Mus'ab ibn al-Miqdam and Hujayn ibn al-Muthanna told us, they said: Isra'il told us, Abdullah ibn Ismah al-Ijli told us, who said: I heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri say: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, took the banner and shook it, then said: 'Who will take it with its due right?' Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'By the One who honored the face of Muhammad, I will surely give it to a man who will not flee. Here, O Ali.' So he set off until Allah granted him victory over Khaybar and Fadak, and he brought their choice dates and dried meat." Mus'ab said: "their choice dates and their dried meat."
