حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي شَيْبَانَ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْوَتْرِ فَقَالَ أَوْتِرُوا قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ فِي تَفْسِيرِ شَيْبَانَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُتَوَكِّلِ النَّاجِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْلُصُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ مِنْ النَّارِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.

Hashim told us, Abu Mu'awiyah — meaning Shayban — told us, from Yahya, from Abu Nadrah al-Awfi, that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri informed him, saying: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the Witr prayer, and he said: "Pray Witr before dawn." Husayn told us, in Shayban's account of the tafsir, from Qatadah, who said: Abu al-Mutawakkil al-Naji told us, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The believers will be delivered from the Fire" — and he mentioned the hadith.
