حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْكَعْبِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ جَائِزَتَهُ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ. وَالضِّيَافَةُ ثَلاَثَةُ أَيَّامٍ، فَمَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ، وَلاَ يَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَثْوِيَ عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى يُحْرِجَهُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Shurayh al-Kabi al-Adawi (may Allah be well pleased with him) has reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "He who believes in Allah and the last day should speak a good, decent conversation otherwise remain silent. And he who believes in Allah and the last day should honour his guest whose Jaizah (a provision for the guest better than one’s own meals) is the length of a day and a night. And hospitality extends for three days and whatever is beyond that (more than three days) is Sadaqah. it is not proper for a guest to tax his host by overstaying (so that he is tired of him).
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابو شریح الکعبی العدوی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: 'جو اللہ اور آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہے وہ اچھی اور شائستہ بات کہے ورنہ خاموش رہے۔ جو اللہ اور آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہے وہ اپنے مہمان کا اکرام کرے جس کی جائزہ ایک دن ایک رات ہے۔ مہمان داری تین دن ہے اور اس کے بعد صدقہ ہے۔ مہمان کے لیے مناسب نہیں کہ وہ میزبان پر بوجھ ڈالے (اتنا ٹھہرے کہ وہ تنگ آ جائے)۔'
