Hadrat Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that Hadrat Ali al-Murtada (may Allah ennoble his countenance) came to Hadrat Sayyidah Hadrat Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be well pleased with her) while Hadrat Hasan and Hadrat Husayn (may Allah be well pleased with them both) were crying. He asked: 'Why are they crying?' She said: 'Out of hunger.' So Hadrat Ali al-Murtada went out and found a dinar in the marketplace. He returned and informed Hadrat Sayyidah Hadrat Fatimah, who said: 'Go to such-and-such a Jew and bring some flour.' He went to the Jew and purchased flour. The Jew said: 'Are you the son-in-law of the one who claims to be the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)?' He said: 'Yes.' The Jew said: 'Keep your dinar; the flour is yours.' Hadrat Ali al-Murtada returned and informed Hadrat Sayyidah Hadrat Fatimah, who said: 'Go to such-and-such a butcher and bring us meat for one dirham.' He went and pledged the dinar for one dirham's worth of meat and brought it back. She kneaded the flour, set the pot on the fire, baked the bread, and sent for her noble father (the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). When he arrived, she submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), I shall tell you the entire matter; if you consider it lawful for us, we shall eat and you shall partake with us. The matter is such-and-such.' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Eat in the name of Allah.' So they all ate. While they were still seated, a boy came beseeching by Allah and Islam, searching for his dinar. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ordered that the boy be summoned. He asked him, and the boy said: 'It fell from me in the marketplace.' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'O Hadrat Ali, go to the butcher and tell him that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) says: Send me the dinar, and your dirham is guaranteed by me.' So the butcher sent the dinar, and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) gave it to the boy.

حضرت سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی المرتضیٰ کرّم اللہ تعالیٰ وجہہ الکریم حضرت سیدہ فاطمۃ الزہراء رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے پاس تشریف لائے۔ حضرت حسن اور حضرت حسین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما رو رہے تھے۔ آپ نے پوچھا: یہ کیوں رو رہے ہیں؟ حضرت سیدہ فاطمہ نے فرمایا: بھوک سے۔ حضرت علی المرتضیٰ باہر تشریف لے گئے تو بازار میں ایک دینار پڑا پایا، واپس آ کر حضرت سیدہ فاطمہ کو بتایا۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: فلاں یہودی کے پاس جائیے اور آٹا لے آئیے۔ آپ یہودی کے پاس گئے اور اس سے آٹا خریدا۔ یہودی نے کہا: تم اس کے داماد ہو جو دعویٰ کرتا ہے کہ وہ اللہ کا رسول ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں۔ اس نے کہا: اپنا دینار رکھو اور آٹا لے جاؤ۔ حضرت علی المرتضیٰ واپس تشریف لائے اور حضرت سیدہ فاطمہ کو بتایا۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: فلاں قصائی کے پاس جائیے اور ایک درہم کا گوشت لے آئیے۔ آپ تشریف لے گئے اور دینار کو ایک درہم گوشت کے عوض گروی رکھا اور گوشت لے آئے۔ حضرت سیدہ فاطمہ نے آٹا گوندھا، ہانڈی چڑھائی اور روٹی پکائی، اور اپنے والد ماجد (حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو بلا بھیجا۔ آپ تشریف لائے تو حضرت سیدہ فاطمہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میں آپ کو سارا واقعہ بیان کرتی ہوں، اگر آپ اسے ہمارے لیے حلال سمجھیں تو ہم بھی کھائیں اور آپ بھی ہمارے ساتھ تناول فرمائیں۔ اس کا واقعہ ایسا ایسا ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اللہ کا نام لے کر کھاؤ۔ چنانچہ سب نے کھایا۔ ابھی سب اپنی جگہ پر تھے کہ ایک لڑکا اللہ اور اسلام کا واسطہ دے کر اپنا دینار ڈھونڈ رہا تھا۔ حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے حکم فرمایا تو اسے بلایا گیا۔ آپ نے اس سے دریافت فرمایا تو اس نے عرض کیا: بازار میں مجھ سے گر گیا تھا۔ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اے علی! قصائی کے پاس جاؤ اور اس سے کہو کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم فرماتے ہیں: دینار مجھے بھیج دو، اور تمہارا درہم میرے ذمے ہے۔ چنانچہ اس نے دینار بھیج دیا اور حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اسے اس لڑکے کو عطا فرما دیا۔
